Brazil defends the Nicaraguan dictatorship in the Organization of American States and wants to censor two sentences from the report to be presented this week in Washington
The reason is simple: it was Daniel Ortega who introduced Fidel Castro to Lula
The government of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, through its permanent mission to the Organization of American States (OAS), has asked for changes to a document to be submitted this week by a group of countries denouncing the severe deterioration of human rights in Nicaragua. Brazil is seeking to weaken the message, asking, for example, to delete a sentence expressing "concern about reports of the deteriorating human rights situation of women, indigenous peoples, and Afro-descendants" or another stating that "worsening conditions have led hundreds of thousands of Nicaraguans to leave the country since 2018."
China is negotiating with Cuba for a facility on the island for joint military training.
