Now Cuba also buys sugar from the U.S.
The "historical enemy" of the communist regime now provides a product for which the island became world-famous centuries ago.
U.S. exports to the island amounted to more than $37 million last month, a record. In addition to sugar, Cuban purchases in the USA include chicken meat, bacon, butter, olive, and sunflower oil.
