The establishment of a "National Prosecutor's Office for the Defense of Democracy," whose responsibilities include "to represent the Union, judicially and extrajudicially, in requests and procedures to respond to and deal with disinformation about public policies," is extremely concerning. In other words, under the guise of "defending democracy," the government will be able to label as "disinformation" any mere opinion it does not agree with.
