The new Archbishop of Caracas condemns torture by the Maduro dictatorship
Cardinal Baltazar Porras criticized human rights abuses during his opening homily, demanding "that all abuses and torture end."
In addition, the cardinal urged Venezuela to uphold human rights and administer fair justice. Bishop Victor Hugo Basabe had previously criticized the "bubble of economic falsity" and the "precarious" state of the nation during the Divine Shepherdess procession, Venezuela's largest, on January 14 in front of 3 million people.
