Today at dawn, Daniel Ortega's government banished and deported at least 222 political detainees to the US
Among them Catholic priests, opposition leaders, former presidential contenders, and businessmen. The United States has facilitated the transport. Biden denied any negotiation for the release
After regime judge Octavio Rothschuh announced "the deportation of 222 people who have been declared 'traitors to the homeland, punished for serious crimes and perpetually interdicted from exercising public office on behalf of the Nicaraguan state service, as well as from holding offices of popular election, leaving their citizenship rights permanently in effect,'" the detainees' relatives and the local press confirmed the news.
